Face Fear

Moving closer to a goal hardly comes without facing some sort of fear.

We might feel unprepared, vulnerable or unworthy; this is just the start though.

Fear is our friend. Like a compass it tells us what could go wrong. Fears are pieces of information about possible outcomes we don’t feel prepared for yet. Being afraid to fail can lead us to this one point we want to improve to feel more confident. Fear of being judged can make us realize that our own opinion is still highly valuable. It can make us aware of our emotional dependence on other people’s opinions.

Being afraid to fail can teach us to embrace what we do and doing it in the best way we can. In this way, failure can become a stepping stone to where we want to be. Even if we fail, we are still worthy. Even if we fail, we improved and left nothing on the field. How we face our fears is how we grow.

Fear can be our ticket to freedom, if we choose to embrace it. It will never go away; it will show up when we need it the most. Accepting fear means accepting ourselves and our flaws in their entirety. This is self love.

Figuring out what I am really afraid of has always been a huge boost in my personal development.
